A new kind of Games. Rooted in Glasgow. Built for the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth Games return to Glasgow in 2026, from July 23rd until August 2nd, and it’s brilliant to be back!As only the third city in history to host the Games twice, Glasgow brings deep experience and unmistakable character to this global moment. From world-class sport to street-level celebrations, Glasgow 2026 will be an 11-day festival of energy, community and ambition — all set within an eight-mile corridor that puts fans, athletes and the city side by side.
Weightlifting Scotland welcomes you to our website, we are the National Governing Body for Weightlifting in Scotland. We have a board of voluntary directors that deal with the day to day running of our organisation for administration to organising competitions. We also run British Weightlifting courses and have a Scottish based satellite centre for courses to be organised with all finances coming directly back into our sport. Weightlifting Scotland aims to increase our membership and produce coaches that will help us achieve this as well as our current coaches in the clubs around Scotland. We are an inclusive organisation which aims to promote our sport throughout the country and further afield. We will be keeping our members updated with dates of competitions, rankings, records and policy and procedures.
