Weightlifting Scotland will be untertaking steps to ensure that every coach , assistant coach , referee and
technical official is a member of the PVG Scheme and be registered to undertake
regulated work on behalf of Weightlifting Scotland. When implemented anyone not registered that should be will not be able to coach or officiate at any Weightifting Scotland Competitions and clubs will be advised not to allow unregistered coaching within their club.
We would appreciate if all clubs and individuals currently active within Weightlifting Scotland would start making preparations to distribute any application forms within your club.
Existing members of the PVG Scheme for other activities require a separate
form from new applicants , applications will be rejected if the incorrect
form is submitted.
We will send out applications which are free to submit for volunteers and the Code of Practice
will be strictly adhered to.
If you have any questions then please contact our Protection Officer Gill Morrogh Bernard on email at firstname.lastname@example.org
|What are PVGs
|The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme is managed by Disclosure Scotland. It helps makes sure people whose behaviour makes them unsuitable to work with children and/or protected adults, cannot do 'regulated work' with these vulnerable groups. When someone applies to join the scheme, Disclosure Scotland carries out criminal record checks and shares the results with individuals and organisations. The application process involves gathering criminal record and other relevant information, which is always shared with the employer.
Weightlifting Scotland are inviting applications for the position of Scottish Junior Coach, if you think you would like to register your interest in this post then please have a read at the file below and email the address on the form.
